Tympus

Privacy Policy

Effective October 29, 2026

Tympus LLC (“Tympus”, “we”) makes the app Fremitus and runs this website, tympus.app. This policy covers Fremitus on iPhone, iPad, Android and the web, and this website.

The short version

Information we collect

We do not collect personal information through Fremitus, and we run no servers that receive information about how you use it. The one exception is the subscription record described under Purchases, which is kept under an anonymous ID.

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. We use it only to answer you.

Information stored on your device

To remember your work between sessions, Fremitus saves your settings, saved sessions and presets, quiz progress, language choice and any recordings you make or import in My Recordings in your device’s local app storage. It stays on your device and is never uploaded to us.

You can delete all of it at any time by deleting the app, or, for the web versions, by clearing the site’s data in your browser.

If you use Back Up Everything, Fremitus puts your quiz progress, presets, favorites and your own recordings into a single backup file. The file is created on your device and goes only where you choose to save or send it, such as Files, AirDrop or email. It is never sent to us. Anyone you give the file to can restore what is in it, including your recordings, so share it only with people you trust.

Recordings of your own heart can be health information. Fremitus keeps them only on your device and never sends them to us, so we do not collect, share or sell health data about you.

Permissions

Fremitus asks for access to your microphone only when you press Record in My Recordings, to capture your own heart or stethoscope recordings. Those recordings stay on your device and are never uploaded. You can turn microphone access off at any time in your device’s settings; everything else in the app keeps working. Fremitus does not ask for access to your camera, contacts or location.

Services from other companies

We do not sell your information or share it for advertising. The companies below help deliver Fremitus; each one’s own privacy policy covers what it receives. The iPhone, iPad and Android apps carry everything else they need, including their recordings and typefaces, inside the app.

Purchases

Subscriptions are bought through the App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google handles the payment, and we never see your payment details. RevenueCat (above) keeps the record of your subscription under an anonymous ID so the app can unlock, and so you can restore a purchase on a new device with your Apple or Google account. We receive sales and subscription reports that do not identify you.

Legal bases and transfers (EU and UK)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, Tympus LLC is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. We keep the anonymous subscription record to provide the subscription you bought (performance of a contract) and to keep the business and tax records the law requires (legal obligation). We read emails you send us in order to answer them (our legitimate interest in replying to you). RevenueCat and Cloudflare process data on our behalf under data processing terms. Both are based in the United States, so this data is transferred there, protected by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and their UK equivalent; Cloudflare is also certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

Children

Fremitus is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, including the European Union, the United Kingdom and California, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information about you, and to object to its use. Because Fremitus does not send us your information, there is usually nothing for us to access or delete beyond any emails you have sent and the anonymous subscription record held by RevenueCat, which we will delete on request. Email us to make a request and we will respond within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Deleting your data

To delete your data from Fremitus by Tympus LLC:

  1. Data on your device (your recordings, progress and settings): uninstall Fremitus, which removes all of it. It never reaches us, so there is nothing else to delete. Backup files you made with Back Up Everything are separate files under your control; delete them wherever you saved them.
  2. Your subscription record: email [email protected] with the subject “Delete my data” and include the order number from your Apple or Google Play purchase receipt (Google Play order numbers start with “GPA.”), so we can find your anonymous record. We delete it within 30 days and confirm by email.

What is deleted: the anonymous subscription record and purchase history RevenueCat holds for you, and any emails you have sent us. What is kept: Apple and Google keep their own records of your purchase under their own policies, and we keep sales totals that do not identify you, as tax law requires. Deleting your data does not cancel a subscription; cancel it first in your App Store or Google Play subscriptions.

How long we keep information

Information on your device stays until you delete it. The anonymous subscription record is kept while you have a subscription and afterwards for as long as we need it for subscription reports and tax records, unless you ask us to delete it. Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to help you, and deleted sooner if you ask.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top and note any significant changes in the app’s update notes.
